On Sunday, May 31st Credit Union employees representing the Tampa Chapter of Credit Unions manned the phones for 2 hours in support of the All Children’s Hospital. Along with providing volunteers for the event, the Tampa Chapter of Credit Unions presented a check for $10,000 to All Children’s Hospital. The funds presented by the Chapter were part of the $30,000 raised during the Chapter’s recent Cruise for Kids Motorcycle Poker Run, an annual motorcycle ride held to raise funds to benefit local children’s charities.
The Chapter continued in their fundraising efforts and teamed up with the CO-OP Financial Services Miracle Match program. CO-OP Financial Services created a $1 million matching funds program to benefit Credit Unions for Kids supporting local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Efren Garza flew in from California to present a Miracle Match check in the amount of $10,000 for a grand total donated of $20,000.
Over five years, the annual Credit Union Cruise for Kids has raised a total of $190,000 for donation to organizations which nurture children, such as The Children’s Home, Clothes to Kids, the Boys and Girls Club, The Ronald McDonald House, the Pediatric Center, as well as All Children’s Hospital. “I want to thank everyone for their support,” said Sharmon Goins-Lenth, President of the Tampa Chapter of Credit Unions.
